1.     Pick something that matters to you and use an analogy or figure of speech to try to get other people to care about it too.
                                                           ii.      Personal/Nonfiction Narrative:
1.     Pick something you know a lot about and use an analogy to explain it to other people (ex. the human brain is like a computer; DNA is like a secret code; playing the piano/changing a tire/dancing salsa/beating this video game is like….)
                                                        iii.      Fiction Narrative:

1.     What is an issue/message that is important to you? Try to write a short story where the characters/plot/setting ARE an analogy to explain this message.

                                                           ii.      Fiction Narrative: Write a scene where something awful has just happened to the character. See if you can use figurative language to make your reader share his/her emotions.
